Cedefop has launched a call for tender called ‘Green skills and environmental awareness in vocational education and training’.
The objective of the study is to identify challenges and priorities for green skills so as to ensure that education and training systems can respond to demand expressed by businesses and benefit from the transition to sustainable, smart and inclusive growth in selected occupations while taking into account EU policies. The study will highlight skill needs in a number of green occupations and provide policy and practice recommendations.
This call has been published in the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities 2010/S 164-251529 of 25/08/2010.
Deadline of submitting tenders: 07/10/2010 (17h00 for hand-delivered tenders).
You can find all related tender documents under the following link: http://www.cedefop.europa.eu/EN/working-with-us/public-procurements/calls-for-tenders.aspx
We would like to kindly ask you to disseminate this information to all those who might be interested.

SPECIAL ISSUE CALL FOR PAPERS
Globalisation, Societies and Education
Special Issue: Global Reconstructions of Vocational Education and Training
We are inviting contributions that engage critically with Vocational Education and Training (VET). In what ways do VET systems respond to the context in which they are placed? How are questions of autonomy and specificity played out at transnational, national, regional and local levels, and what are the social justice implications for such provision? To what extent are national VET systems marked by specificity? Are there global moves towards forms of convergence? And how do these developments articulate with private provision of VET and that found in emerging and developing economies? What are the relationships of VET systems to particular forms of knowledge and skill and in what ways are these articulated to processes of class formation? Does the current vocational thrust of education policy reflect a new accenting of 'working class' education and if so, how is this mediated by questions of race and gender? What, if any, is the part played by VET in the formation of learner and teacher subjectivities and identities?
Contributors may focus on particular themes, for example:
- global politics of VET
- governance and provision
- VET and Associate degrees
- FE/HE 'mixed' economies
- discourses of Skill, Competence and Knowledge
- regional VET systems (Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa etc)
- commodification/Privatisation of VET
- conservativism of VET systems
- gender, race, migration and VET
- ILO (and other International Organisations)
- VET, teacher and learner identity
- VET, inequality and social justice
Deadline of submission of manuscripts: 30 November 2010
